contract based Technician 

Reports to: Installation Manager


Goals and Outcomes: Responsible for installing audio, video systems based off of project documentation such as scope of work, line drawings, elevations and floor plans.  


Essential Functions:

  • Assemble A/V systems to predefined specifications

  • Rack fabrication and wiring, crimp, solder, wire pull, label, terminate, and other technical tasks associated with A/V systems

  • Determine the resources needed to complete new installations based on plans

  • Follow system drawings and wiring details, submit markups when needed

  • Travel to customer sites for installation/testing of systems

  • Communicate with customers and peers throughout the spec, build and installation phases

  • Troubleshoot systems including signal flow, software and basic networking issues

  • Maintain all associated paperwork in a timely manner (timesheet, expenses, etc.)




  • A two year diploma from a Technical school, or equivalent experience

  • Must have excellent communication skills and possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment

  • Proficient with computers, including audio visual applications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Able to climb ladders, lift over 50lbs, work in tight spaces

  • Willingness to travel
